If it wasn't for the BIPOC Alphabet Challenge, I probably would've put this off a little longer 😬 I'm so happy I picked it up though because I adored Noah and Sage's story.
This was a rivals to lovers, workplace romance. Noah and Sage were unofficial competitors while they were in college. Years later, Noah is hired at the same company Sage has worked for since graduating. Not only that, they're now co-artists on the same highly anticipated comic.
I truly enjoyed the animosity, banter, and competitiveness between these two! Throw in an online competition and the side eyeing and sarcastic comments got better.
But on top of resurrecting a classic comic, creating a brand new webcomic for the contest, and sifting through new feelings for your co worker.... things eventually come crashing down. Sage's boundaries with her family are tested and Noah learns her limitations.
I think what stuck with me was the communication and heartfelt moment when they were both at low points. Yeah, there was some pushing away from Sage's side but it didn't last long. They were self aware enough to know that both of them had things to work on and would work on them full heartedly for the sake of their relationship.
This is a new to me author and I'm excited to read more!

The narrators for the audiobook were not doing it for me and made this book a real struggle.
me re costó enganchar pero después lo terminé de una sentada así que no sé ni qué puntaje darle, pero muy lindo las quiero mucho!!
Outdrawn is a sapphic romance between two rival comic artists working together while also competing for top spot in their webcomic world. The girls are very sweet, especially with each other, and the discussions around mental health and burn out were great.
That being said, I didn't feel completely drawn into this story (haha, drawn in..). They might have gone from rivals to lovers a little faster than what I expected, which isn't necessarily bad, but it's not what I thought I was getting into.
On another note, the audiobook narration wasn't my favourite, which may also have contributed to the lack of enjoyment. If I remember correctly, it's Sage's narrator when using Noah's voice that is particularly disturbing...

The audiobook narrator for Noah was so hard to listen to. I can’t finish it as an audiobook.
actual rating: 4.9 ⭐️s
I NEED TO BUY THE PHYSICAL COPY OF THIS OMG ! it was good and well written. i love how the author went into both the MC’s family dynamics and their internal struggles, i believe she [the author] did such a wonderful job w going into these more serious topics in a more sensitive way. it made the characters a lot more real for me.
this book is so good that i really don’t have anything else to say

I really didn’t vibe with the narration. One narrator talked too fast for me (when I listen sped up to my normal level) and the other talks too quietly and even with the volume all the way up in my work vehicle.
Total perfection with the flawed but totally lovable FMCs, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, and their off the charts chemistry. Loved the heat and the characters, and the storyline was perfection.
