Meh. I just could not get into this one. The premise sounds awesome, but I was bored. DNF'd at 48%.

I refuse to make myself suffer through books that will not be over 3 stars

Firstly, I hate when authors choose to capitalize the word "black."  I find it very distracting, especially as much as race was mentioned in this book.

Secondly, I felt like anti-gun agenda was being crammed down by throat.  I was so tired of hearing how bad guns are.

Thirdly, the book overall was very bland.  I never felt connected to any of the characters.  There really wasn't anything likeable about them.  It took me forever to finish this book, probably because it literally kept putting me to sleep.

very funny and entertaining! the pacing was kind of uneven in a jarring way and I got confused about when things were happening. I also feel like not that much happened in it?? the ending was kind of anticlimactic which was unexpected considering the sheer amount of guns in this book

I really didn’t enjoy this book. I thought it had an interesting premise and I would enjoy the references I can personally relate to (professionalism, Brooklyn, etc) but very little happened in the story, it was fairly trite/often on the nose with its attempted social critiques, and the build off I felt never paid off at the end. I thought the banter between the Aretha and Aaron for the first 90% of the book was entertaining though, even if those convos were very brief.
