i enjoyed this book, the beginning was hard to get through, im not into boring intros and to me it felt boring. however, after i made it over the 25% mark i was HOOKED. the plot twists really kept me going, i hated all the characters, especially cat. i think cat is so judgemental and rude. trigger warning for mentions of abortion she’s really rude about that bit.

the plot twists well some of them i seen but most of them i was actually shocked that i didn’t see coming.

the ending was interesting, i feel like it’s very hard to end a book like this without adding a whole lot of trauma. this ending was good, i think it really wrapped up the characters and their lives.

my favourite character was william. he was just so… predictable. very silly man in a good way i suppose.

overall i actually would recommend this book besides my rating i think that’s just a personal thing that i rated it like that. could have been 4 stars if something WORSE happened in the book for me personally.

“Keeping my mouth shut was a skill I’d perfected a long time ago. It was the gossipers who got in trouble. The braggers. People like Cat Winthorpe, who couldn’t just have the perfect life. She had to throw it in your face with her casual comments, her drip of wealth. Which is why she needed to be punished. You can’t blame me for what happened. I was simply putting her in her place.”

Why I let this book sit unread in my kindle library for as long as it did is such a surprise. I got this book as an Amazon First Reads and let me tell you it did not disappoint at all! This is a book you can easily pick up and read in one sitting if you have the time and no kids 🤣

Just when I thought I knew how it was going to end and who the crazy wife was another came out of the wood work and had me so shocked I didn’t know what to expect next. So many praises for this thriller and it is one I highly recommend if you love twist and turns and surprise endings.
