Absolutely adored this book. Like the other two A.R. Torre books I read and DEVOURED, this was no different. Cat is, just as her name would suggest, and clever, sneaky, and deadly little human. Half a house cat and half a tiger who would rip your eye out given the chance. Both Cat and Neena are the definition of snobby bitches that you aren't meant to like. I honestly liked not none of the characters, which is rare, but didn't stop me from loving the book itself. The plot was so intricately designed for you to be surprised, disgusted, or in awe at every corner. Brilliant. I switched between hating every character throughout the book and enjoyed the experience. A.R. writes about the most clinically insane characters but in such a way that has you enjoying the stories. Or maybe I just like learning the stories of crazy people. Who knows. Either way, it was great fun analyzing each character and getting to the know the devil in disguise that is Cat Winthrope. While Neena is close and also insanely annoying, she remains runner up.
