sweet and tender but also a bit boring and frustrating at times - def all vibes no plot. if you’ve enjoyed other japenese lit fic you will prob enjoy this too, just personally didn’t knock me off my feet like “people in my neighborhood”

Deeply bland and passive main character. An unpleasant relationship with nothing to redeem it presented as a romantic idyll.

"In loneliness I have drifted this long way, alone."

It is a book about loneliness in a way. I liked some of the writing, but general story of it all didn't quite sit or stay with me.
