My heart. Once again CE Ricci rips your heart out, destroys you, and puts you back together. This is my first Marley Valentine book, and I'd venture to say that she does the same.

This book is intense. It's super hot 🔥, incredibly angsty, and kinda makes you want to throw it across the room sometimes. (I say that as a positive thing.)

Pierce and Will meet at a bar one night. Pierce is starting over and took a pit stop in Cannon Beach. Will is an Army medic, also swinging through Cannon Beach before heading to Seattle. One moment of instalove turns to a week before Will ships out.

Their feelings are strong and the men keep up a correspondence during Will's time away. They pine for one another...but things cannot always be perfect and heartache has to come. Upon Will's return stateside, their worlds are flipped upside down.

I was rooting for their love, even though sometimes it was destructive trying to get to a HEA. I teared up, yelled, said "no no no " several times, smiled and gulped, then ended in a contented sigh. This is a must read.
