Oh how I love the Playing to Win series. Every book just reels you in from the start and before you know it, you’re devouring the book. I could not get enough of Brynlee and Deacon. Brynlee is a strong independent woman, who is determined to do what she wants. Until, a bet goes wrong and her job is headed in a different direction. Brynlee also runs into someone from her past. Deacon is back as the new head coach and with his daughter Kennedy. Brynlee and Deacon were around each other when they were younger. Now they are both adults and the chemistry is off the charts. Brynlee and Deacon take us on a whirlwind adventure that will have you laughing, crying, and melting at those sweet spot moments between them. Though with all those sweet moments also comes some drama, difficult choices, and emotional surprises that will have you feeling all kinds of emotions. Then add in Brynlee’s sweet moments with Kennedy and Deacon just being Deacon, you’ll fall in love with them and just like all our favorite characters in this series want more.

I have been very excited for Brynlee’s story, I think she has been my most anticipated of the second gen series because her parents Scarlet and Cade are still one of my top 3 favorite Bella Matthews couples! I loved seeing some of her strong willed qualities that she got from Scarlet even if she isn’t her bio mom, but I think her heart is most like Cade.
Brynlee & Deacon knew each other when they were younger but they met again by chance while out at a bar on the Jersey Shore. As a fellow Jersey Girl, I loved all the feels of them being down the shore and then traveling back home. Plus it’s perfect for the summer! Their talking quickly goes from innocent to flirting. They very much had an insta-lust romance. It took off really quickly. I do wish they took their time a little bit more.
Deacon is a single dad to his daughter Kennedy. He shares custody and has an amazing relationship with his ex. It was very refreshing to see them co-parent so well and it not be a toxic relationship! A sudden move brings the idea to Brynlee that they should get married. It didn’t seem like it was needed for their situation but it did add a lot to the story. Deacon is one of my favorite heroes from this series. The way that he loves Brynn and wants to protect her. Brynn is absolutely my favorite heroine from the series! I love her personality. I really enjoyed the way she bonded with Kennedy and really took the time to make it easy on her. Brynn’s banter with her family and the way she made sure they knew when she was upset was so fitting to her character.
As always, this book is packed with lots of fun family group texts. Hilarious banter and antics. But also the loving family feel, especially when they think someone is in trouble.

The family tree is extremely confusing and repeatedly pulled me out of the actual story.
Where do I start this book was sweet and definitely hit the right spot

What can I say, I read it in one afternoon. Brynlee won me over, I loved getting to know her more. The jokes between the characters are something unique that makes you love this book even more... Brynlee and Deacon's love journey it made me shed a few tears but it stole my heart. Now I absolutely have to read the first ones in the series because I already miss this world. If you like the newfound family, the extended family, you must read this series but above all this book. rating 4.5

So good!!!
I already wanted to read this book since Scarlett and Cade's book, Brynlee's parents. I thought I would read according to reading order, but I changed my mind and read whatever book in Bella Matthews universe I want to read. I left my perfectionist aside and ignored the reading order.
Brynlee and Deacon were so hot together. I loved reading their dynamic. I loved Brynlee and Kennedy's relationships, too. The extended epilogue made me cross my fingers for Kennedy's book, maybe with one of Jace's twins.
While this book is declared as standalone, I think a new reader of Bella Matthews would be confused because there were so many side characters from previous books. While some find it overwhelming, I found it so challenging because it made me want to read their perspective books.
The side character I am so patiently waiting for the book is Maddox. Damn Maddox was so fine in here and in "Captivating" (Lilah Ryan and Killian St. James' book). I really hope that when the time for his book comes, the story will be so good and lift up my expectations because Maddox deserves a good story or two.
