The plot was good, and even though it took me a while to get used to the way of writing, I really like how she wrote it.

My first romance novel. And I fell in love with this series.

Classic love story. At times difficult to read dialogue but can make it through.

This is one of my favorite books. I love the descriptions of day to day life on the prairie. I love the simply routines of sewing, knitting, woodworking, farm work, baking bread, and the relationships between the characters.

Meh.

This was one of the sweetest, most endearing little books I've ever read. It was gripping, sweet, and realistic- all in one incredible package. Loved it.

Where has this book been all my life? Just amazing...beautiful.

Meh.

I had to read this for a class called Librarians and Popular Culture. It was all I feared it might be. Insipid comes to mind first... It's a Christian romance set in the Wild West. As one who grew up idolizing Laura Engles Wilder I did find some affection for the plucky young woman striking out on the homestead. The paternalistic nature of the story can be assumed although the author is, of course, a woman. Suited for 77-year-old maiden aunts who attend noon Mass on Fridays.
