4 1/2 stars. This book is right up my alley. It was the perfect book to get my mind off of being sick in bed during summer break.
I love this book! The simplistic way she creates a captivating story is amazing. It a pretty short book and it's rustic with all the country talk but there are some of the best words in christian fiction between these pages. Be still my heart. This was my first glimpse at christian fiction and it still always be my favorite.
Such a sweet book! This is my second time reading this and I found myself staying up until 4 a.m. to finish it in one day. Highly recommended for those who enjoy historical Christian fiction.
I used to love this series as a kid. I reread the book yesterday, and forgot how much I had enjoyed this series!

The First Christian Romance I Ever Read
I read Love Comes Softly several years ago and really enjoyed it. Now, I'm not sure that "enjoyed" is the right word. Love Comes Softly has a very complementarian Christian feel to it, which is partly to do with the time when it was written, which didn't take away from my enjoyment of the book, but it certainly didn't add anything to my reading either.
While I didn't see a lot in Love Comes Softly that I disagreed with theologically, I'm not sure that I saw a lot that I agreed with theologically as well. Which makes my reading a little more complicated because I really want to have positives to report on.
Overall, I give Love Comes Softly a 3.75 rating.

It lives up to my faint recollection of the movie. I enjoyed this story quite a bit. I give it 3.5 really.
