JUSTICE FOR MOLLY!
So… my wish came true! Even though the angel didn't intentionally end up with the demon, she got kidnapped and was forced to be with him. I am still sad that she didn’t give into the seductive demon, but it was fun to read about the hell she lived in (literally.) I kind of gave up reading towards the end because it just became too predictable to read and the religious theme became overpowering.
Overall it was really good - I'll be getting the next one. I do have a few criticisms though, namely that the main boy, Xavier is a little bit to perfect (in both books). Also, there were parts of the ending which I found objectionable. In addiction, I wasn't particularly keen on the depiction of hell... in a lot of places I found it kind of mild. I wasn't sure whether to rate the book a 3 star or a 4 star - I settled for the higher option in the end, mainly due to the character of Jake, who, although he's very nasty and I'm not a fan, is very well written. Over all, go Hades! I think I preferred it to the first book as well.
This is the second book in the Halo series. I really couldn't get into it and won't be reading the next book.
Bethany is captured and taken to Hell. The book is about how to bust her out of Hell, without causing the apocalypse.
Hell read like the youth group haunted house; Hell House. It was too stereotypical, with bats and all. I tried, I just really couldn't get into this book.
This is the most wholesome book about Hell I have ever read and is appropriate for teens looking for not risque novels.

First, let me say that I don't like giving a negative review of anything, especially something like a book because I know there's a person (an author) behind it but I also have to be honest and say I just did not enjoy this book. I enjoyed "Halo", beautiful cover and all and was looking forward to reading this one but was disappointed.
Maybe it was because Bethany spends the majority of her time in Hades aka Hell (all the heat, sadness and tortured souls does get a little depressing after a while) or maybe because I just wasn't as into the storyline like I was with "Halo", Idk. There's a really slim chance it could be because there was a lot less of Xavier but I can neither confirm nor deny that. I know the writing itself isn't stellar but I'm OK with that. I liked the lightheartedness of "Halo" and I guess I kind of expected a lot of the gloom and doom of Hades but I sure hope the third book, "Heaven" will be just that, Heaven. (Now, I have "Just like Heaven" by The Cure running through my head...)

I made it to page 28 of this book before I threw in the towel. I somehow liked the first book in the series, but the "romance" in this story is unbearable. I struggle with books about high school sometimes but this was SO over the top. Everything was exaggerated and, even though I liked Bethany and Xavier in the first book, they made me want to dry heave. As soon as she called him "Huggie Bear" I knew I was going to be annoyed the rest of the book if I didn't put it down now. Halo was alright, but this is just too much.
I loved the first book, so this should be promising. I love the twist and turns and unexpected happenings.
I liked this one better than the first one. Good story, light read.
