I liked this book okay. I can see why it was classified as women’s fiction instead of a romance, as it would seem to be through the first half of the book. It was difficult to say if I found Annie completely likeable. She acted pretty badly towards Patrick after they got back from their trip, but even her internal monologue almost made you believe she didn’t really want to be with him, then does a 180 at the end. I enjoyed the romance part (mostly the part in Australia, but didn’t totally love the rest.
Thank you to NetGalley and Harper 360 Publishing for providing me access to this eARC for my honest opinion!

This book was just ok for me. I love the cover and I think I wanted to like the story more because of it. I never really connected with either character. There was a lot of talking but nothing seemed to move the plot along.

The book title is a good description. Annie is about to marry Alexander but is jilted in the worst possible way.....at the alter. She's devasted but after bumping into a male friend she once knew as a teenager and the persuasion to go on the honeymoon that was booked for her and her new husband, she takes her old friend. It's a journey to the other side of the world of self discovery.
She learns that she has indeed had a lucky escape and that her husband to be wasn't right for her. The main characters are likeable but Annie needed to find a back bone when it comes to her mother!
The book is slightly predictable but funny in places and there is some good sexual tension. It's an easy and pleasant read and provided a form of escape without having to think too much. Easy to put down and pick up again. Good holiday read down by the pool or on the beach. Sweet romcom.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Avon Books UK for sharing this digital reviewer copy with me in exchange for my honest review. Schelded to released 10th June 2021
Also [osted to Goodreads.
