Annie is jilted on her wedding day, and her world is turned completely upside down. A chance meeting leads to her being reunited with childhood friend Patrick, and in a twist of events, ends up taking him on her honeymoon.

There were some really nice relationships in this book. Annie's friendship with her Core Four as well as Adzo, just felt so real. I adored her and her little sister Freddie, too. My favourite of all though, was Patrick. What an actual dream.

The descriptions of Australia were stunning and I loved reading about all of the places Annie and Patrick visited. Seeing Annie go from being such a people pleaser scared to do what she really wanted, to actually putting herself first was so refreshing.
Overall this was the perfect summer read, with fantastic characters and I found it hard to put down. This was my favourite book of Laura's yet, and I'll definitely be reading more!

A massive thank you to Netgalley and Avon for providing me with an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

I felt like I spent a really long time just waiting. Waiting for something to happen. Waiting for the characters to find their direction.
And unfortunately, I am not a patient person, so all that waiting was a pain for me.

A cute easy read but not extraordinary and did not blow me away. A bit predictable.

Just lost me in the end. Not a bad or a good experience, just wasn't for me. It did have potential though.

I was surprised by how much I liked The Lucky Escape, far more than Our Stop or The Love Square. It’s the story of Annie Wiig, who is dumped—via a text message to her wedding planner—on her wedding day. She then proceeds to start to figure out just who she is, which is helped by going on her honeymoon with a new old friend. The setup is not groundbreaking but where Williams particularly excels is sharp character portrayal. We don’t need to have met Annie’s ex fiancé to have taken a measure of him and in just a few details, Williams conveys so much.

There’s a love story and it’s important, but it’s not as important as Annie’s own internal love story. By the end of the book, you not only get to see how she’s changed but also got to see her actually doing it.

I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was such a nice light hearted read. I really loved the characters and loved seeing the change in Annie as the book went on. I loved how she'd gone through something heartbreaking and still managed to pick herself up and have a good time. Its thrilling to read and it whisked me away.

There were a few points where I did feel like she was repeating herself with her feelings, and the plot was a little predictable. However all the same, it was a lovely little light escape.
