I liked it a lot, I loved the characters, and the new equipment. I already want to know what will happen in the second volume.

I'm starting to talk about the captain, please leave them alone.

When Billy told his parents he was dating Hulkling <33333. I loved that scene

omg when we find out that Patriot has no powers. And that he leaves the team

Billy has already met the Scarlet Witch, and he doesn't know she's his mother.

omg everyone's story is so sad, but Kate's, I feel so sorry for her.

And suddenly we discover that Teddy's mom was a Skrull, and then we meet Tommy, and they discover that they are Wanda's children. All this happened so fast, I was in shock.

The final battle omg, now Patriot is going to have real powers.

Finished both volumes back to back. Is there anything else I need to say? I NEED TO SEE MORE ROMANCE AND EXPLICITLY QUEER MOMENTS GODDAMMIT BUT MY BRAIN WONT LET ME READ THE NEWEST RUN UNTIL I READ EVERYTHING ELSE CHRONOLOGICALLY. Like I know it was the early 2000s but damn, I need MORE. Anyways, I'll let you know when I get my hands on the next installment.

Again, this is a re-read for me, so I am a bit biased about this. I love this series.

This volume added a lot on to what happened in the first volume.

Wonderful things happen. Billy and Teddy canonically become a couple, we get to learn a little bit more about everyone's past, especially Patriot and Hulkling and we get the buildup for my favorite part of the series, "Avengers: The Children's Crusade". Also, we get The Vision and Tommy ("Speed") joining the team. Kate Bishop takes on the name "Hawkeye" (which of course, later leads to the fantastic run of "Hawkeye" that revolves around Clint Barton and Kate Bishop).

Patriot's story arc is really interesting. He starts out seeming like a really mean dude, but by the end, you really grow a lot of appreciation for him and his struggles. This is the volume where Patriot's true colors start to finally shine; that he desperately wants to help people and is incredibly passionate about being a good guy. This is the volume where you really appreciate him.

Hulkling's story gets really intense. Plus, it does a wonderful job of explaining some of the alien-stuff that happens for Marvel, for those of us who don't follow it more closely. This is the arc that shows how down to earth and loyal Teddy is.

Cassie and Kate get to be total bad-asses; Cassie kicking butt, and Kate being a fantastic leader, proving she doesn't need powers to hold her own.

Also, Wiccan's story (tied in with Speed's story) starts to get hinted at here. So that's my favorite part, considering I love the "The Children's Crusade".

Just overall love this series. Definitely a good second volume.
