The narration switched from third person in the prologue to first person for the rest of the story, and I spent a few chapters irritated and not compelled by Pleiti's perspective. However, as the mystery picked up and the shadows of the protagonists' relationship gave way to outlines, I was able to settle into the story. The setting on Jupiter was unique and the world building was sprinkled throughout, which offered another layer of discovery. The final chapter made significant contributions to the story, rapidly advancing and resolving many elements so deftly I felt more satisfied in the end than I had felt throughout much of the story.

This is the first installment of a series of novellas set on Jupiter. We a have Sherlock and Holmes vibes cozy mystery with a little bit of a sapphic second chance love story.
Humanity has destroyed Earth and relocated to Jupiter ticking with them samples of everything they could. Scholars are trying to determine the best way to revive Earth. Mossa is investigating a missing scholar and it brings her to the university where her ex-girlfriend, Pleiti, is working. They work together to solve the mystery and determine if they have a chance at rekindling their romantic relationship.
I enjoyed the audiobook of this story. At the very beginning I did have a little bit of trouble determining who was saying what. The romance was lovely and closed door. There was a feeling of some potentially neuro spicy characters without explicitly diving into diagnosis. The mystery was well thought out and resolved nicely without feeling like it came out of nowhere or that you knew right away who the bad guy was.
I look forward to reading more in this series and as always please content warnings in case there is content that is not up your alley.

A quick, fun little listen! Short, which works well for a cozy read, and the lore is interesting. Pleiti is adorable, and the romance between her and Mossa were the definite highlight of the story.

Is it me? Am I the drama?
This might be a simple case of not getting on with a genre at this point but, in my personal reading experience, I've gradually started to equate books marketed as 'cosy' to books that are just... bland.
I think that if you're writing a book with lower stakes you should at the very least give me some distinguishable characters and a well-balanced plot.
This book has such a slow first half where I wasn't really learning that much and a very rushed ending that made me go "oh that's it?". The two main characters also seemed too similar to me (maybe not helped by the audio narration) and I didn't really believe in or particularly care about the romance between them.
While you should take this review with a pinch of salt ('cosy' books and I don't have the best track record) this book was so boring to me and I'm glad it's over. I'd recommend not wasting your time with this one.
