I really enjoyed this Holmesian mystery sci-fi! This time it's two ladies, but the vibes are very Victorian, despite being set ... on a space station? or a station orbiting a gas giant? I'm not 100% clear on that but it was very enjoyable nonetheless.

I want to do a re-read to absorb it more!! And I saw there's a sequel!

how do you manage to make a book about space, a murder-mystery, and sapphicism boring? the only reason this book got a star is because the idea of the word conservative being a slur is so funny to me

this was so fun!! i don't usually read mysteries (the suspense can get to be too much for me) but i think this one's brevity helped (i easily read it in 2 sittings).

Mossa may have a bit of an annoying Sherlock vibe at times, but sometimes i'm in the mood for that! loved the worldbuilding and the prose; the elevated language felt fitting for the story's tone. excited to read the other books!

the combination of the bbc sherlock attitude of mossa and unnecessarily complex language used in the book was a recipe for me doing a lot of skimming as well as not being invested in the story 🫣

it was kind of fun though?
