I loved this book so much more than ‘Evil Queen’ (the technically first book in this series)!! I loved the main character and the love interest too! This book made me feel all of the emotions, though it’s a lot spicier than the other book (still mild I think…?) as a warning.

THERE ARE DRAGONS!!!!!!!!!!

There is the “sex before final battle” trope (hence the spice) which is something I hate… but it’s still a great book despite that!

I was really looking forward to reading this book since I loved the first one, but it was a huge miss for me. If I had read The Evil Queen and The Glass Queen without knowing who wrote them, I never would have guessed it was by the same person. The writing is completely different and I struggled throughout the entire book. The only reason I’m giving the book 1.5* is because despite all the many issues with it, it was at least entertaining. The problems with the book were just too numerous and egregious to overlook. For one, it’s EXTREMELY cheesy. I know it’s YA, I adore YA Fantasy and 90% of what I read falls into this category but the writing here was more on par for middle grade level. The two main characters go back and forth from insta hate to insta love so much in the beginning that it’s enough to get whiplash from. I couldn’t possibly take the book seriously because of it. The phrases and dialect are so weird and out of place at times that it completely took me out of the story. Not to mention all the MANY similarities to SJM’s books, as well as the MC in this book being like a lite version of Daenerys Targaryen, even going so far as to be coined the mother of dragons! Just no. There were so many plot holes and things that made absolutely no sense that were just glossed over without giving any real explanation or seeming at all believable. I truly dislike leaving “bad” reviews but this book was just a huge let down. I expected much much better than this which is basically poorly written fanfic. If I had to describe this book in one word it would be cringey. I doubt I’ll bother to continue on with the series as this book pretty effectively killed my interest.

Saxon Skylair is so unnecessarily amazing(even though he was kind of annoying at first).

Didn't expect that

I enjoyed this book but not as much as the first and not because it was bad, I just felt the sexual tension between Ashamed and Sax was just a tad much. But the book delivered romance, love, action and everything I love reading.

I can't. This book is SO BORING. like I don't care about the characters, the plot. And also I can't be the only one who was madddd uncomfy. I hate HATE HATE the whole "sexual on accident" when he sees her naked and just oggles her like a piece of meat without her concent. And idk his age it gets dubiously described as "older" but she's seventeeeennnnn. And he just thrusts his erection against her in a public setting. Ew ew ew. And I'm soooooo done with the "alpha males" omfgggg he was SO ANNOYING. and if I hear the word "mate" one more time- YOURE NOT AUSTRALIAN OR A FXKING ANIMAL. STOP ACTING LIKE ONE SJAJSN

I mean, I liked it but I didn't Love it. Lots of back and forth 'is this my fairy tale part?'. It felt repetitive I guess. I liked both of the main characters. I liked how she didn't give up even though she was physically weakened most of the time.

I just felt kind of meh about pretty much everything. I mean, you can see where it's going and every betrayal doesn't really come as a surprise.
