This is not at all what I was hoping to read. The motivation of the characters is illogical and stupid, they themselves are uninteresting. The story about the loss of innocence is awfully long.

Interesting enough once it got going but the sheer amount of backstory and setup got overwhelming for me; I felt like I had to plow through it to get to the actual detective plot.
