I really enjoyed this sequel to The Rosie Project. Don Tillman, who has Asperger's, is a most interesting character, and is unintentionally funny as hell. I literally laughed outloud in many places. I highly recommend this book for people who want a quick, light read.
The beginning was fantastic and I was thrilled to be back in this world. But it fell off for me after that. The plot was too much. Maybe it doesn't hold up as well in America? Their reactions to the pregnancy seemed incongruent with their personalities. I really wanted to love this, but I only liked it.
At times, I was bored; other times, I was slightly entertained. Pretty sure I didn't need a sequel to the much more loved The Rosie Project. So disappointing.
Slow at times, but the hilarious, laugh out loud parts make up for it!
I really liked the first book, but I became rather bored with this one. Don is his usual literal self, but this just dragged.

I really enjoyed The Rosie Project, but somehow I LOVED the Rosie Effect. Maybe it was because I listened to it and the narrator did a great job with Don's voice and inflection. Maybe it was because I already loved Don & Rosie and this story could just continue with their story. In any event, I will recommend this for light reading for many people. I love having a neurodivergent protagonist.
I am loving this series! Don tries his absolute best to accommodate his lack of being able to understand people and their emotions. I found myself getting very frustrated with Rosie throughout the story due to her lack of understanding of Don. I will be patiently waiting for the next one in the series...
I didn't enjoy this book as much as I did the The Rosie Project, but it's still one heck of a book. Don Tillman is one my favorite characters ever. I think maybe my years of experience with autism help me see Don in a different way than those who haven't experienced it. Rosie was slightly annoying this time around, but if you've ever spent time with a very rigid person, you can sympathize with her. Plus, you know, pregnancy hormones probably didn't help. This one is a bit more serious than the first, but I still laughed out loud many times. Great sequel!
