I really didn't enjoy the first book (The Rosie Project), but found by book two the characters had warmed to me. Fun plane read.
Really good. I think I liked the first one slightly more than this, but this was still a great read.

I didn't like this one as much as I like the first book. I'm not surprised because sequels are rarely as good as the original. I like the quirkiness of the characters and how easily I can read this book and lose track of my day. I'm a reader who likes to read just to escape at times. So it didn't bother me that this book sometimes seems a bit far-fetched.
Suomeksi Vauvatesti. Tykkäsin ekasta osasta Vaimotesti ihan hurjasti, tiedemiehen kirjoittama rakkaustarina, jonka päähenkilö Don on jokseenkin autismin kirjolla oleva tiedemies, jonka elämä on todella kaavamaista.
Several months after their marriage and the completion of The Rosie Project, we meet Don Tillman and his new-ish wife, Rosie Jarman once again. The couple have re-located from Melbourne to New York where Don is now a professor in genetics at Columbia University where Rosie is also juggling a PhD and medical studies. Ultra-rational Don has become accustomed to a slightly more disordered life than the one he was used to since meeting Rosie, dispensing with the Standardised Meal Plan and successfully - for the most part - adapting to sharing living space with another person. But Rosie throws a huge spanner into his timetable-dominated life when she announces she’s pregnant. The ensuing Baby Project has rather less success than his previous scheme, but with the help of his seven friends he may once again overcome his genetic hardwiring to triumph in a human relationship. The Rosie Effect is as wonderfully warm and as laugh out loud funny as its predecessor.
Graeme Simpson has created a true literary star in Don Tillman.

Author Graeme Simsion brings us back to the lives Don and Rosie. They have moved to New York, and Rosie is pregnant. What follows is a unimaginably complex series of problems for the couple based on the failure of 'normal' folks to interact with Don.
I read the last two thirds of this book in one day. I waffled between worry, nearly to tears, and laughter.
The Rosie Project and the followup The Rosie Effect are extrodinarily entertaining reads. I can recommend them to anyone.
