Not as fun as the first book.

Very entertaining.

Oftentimes when I read the second book in a series I am disappointed.
But this was just as good as the first Rosie-Book. I could not put it down and am now really excited to read the third one.

The storyline is creative and keeps a good beat. Simsion develops his characters in a way that gives them all personality without using any cliches. I wanted to hug all them all in the closing chapters. I sincerely hope that I get to read more about Don, Rosie and Bud.

I might have given the book 4 stars, but I didn't really like the ending. Definitely a little forced.

Everything that I loved about [b:The Rosie Project|16181775|The Rosie Project (Don Tillman, #1)|Graeme Simsion|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1371651741s/16181775.jpg|22084678] didn't apply to [b:The Rosie Effect|23492671|The Rosie Effect (Don Tillman, #2)|Graeme Simsion|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1437370114s/23492671.jpg|41326408]. It wasn't humourous (I laughed just once), I hated selfish selfish Rosie and [a:Graeme Simsion|1895943|Graeme Simsion|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1436999377p2/1895943.jpg] did that typical thing where things just keep going outrageously wrong until the very last second
Spoiler and then everything miraculously rights itself
. I found it to be quite a tedious book to read. Disappointing!

I liked the first one better. Lydia is a total whacko, I really don't care for Rosie's behavior, but overall an amusing and mostly charming tale.

I am utterly devastated to say that I did not enjoy this book as much as the first. I went into it with the highest of expectations (considering how fabulous the first one was). Don is such a beautifully flawed and complex character--
and he was the only reason I had to keep reading.
Bottom line: Maybe this book didn't even need to happen? Or maybe a novella or extended epilogue would've sufficed.

Not as good as the first one.

Learning the hard way that just because the first book in a series was fun and sweet and a good time doesn't mean that the rest of the series will be any of those things.
