I began this book months ago and got sidetracked. I was overdue to come back to it and I'm SO glad that I did. You meet two drastically different characters, from opposite sides of the tracks. Each comes from a broken home and despite everything and everyone that says they shouldn't be together, they find in each other the love that both are denied. They encourage each other to grow. I usually have a harder time with youthful love, but this was just such a beautiful story of love and perseverance, I couldn't help but be drawn from page to page. I just know the conclusion of this story in the second half of the duet is going to blow me away.

My soul HURTS for Ryan. This was well-written -- the pain and trauma he had to go through his entire life had my heart in knots. When Alana entered his life, she was bright light that shone in his dark. This ended with them reuniting after shit went south and Ryan's life went off in a completely different direction. I am IMMEDIATELY READING THE NEXT BOOK.

Adored this on audiobook. Jacob Morgan's narration was EVERYTHING - I could feel every single emotion viscerally. The next book takes place in Alana's POV (assumedly) and Brooke Bloomingdale's the narrator. We got to listen to her do the epilogue in this book and she's pretty good! Excited to start the next one!

(I also noticed that [b:Strip Me Bare|18001430|Strip Me Bare (Strip You, #2)|Marissa Carmel|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1395672739l/18001430._SY75_.jpg|25262306] was actually released first, and Stripped From You was published after as a prequel. I read this first, and I actually think it might be better this way! My empathy and heart's completely with Ryan. We didn't get to see Alana's POV throughout this book (sans the epilogue), so the sequel should be pretty interesting.

I had already read Strip Me Bare(SMB) when I heard that M. Never was writing this prequel from Ryan's perspective. I am normally not a fan of reading prequels after books but this one intrigued me, and WOW and I glad I gave it a read 'cause OMG it was AMAZING!!

This book tells the tale of what happened to Ryan before you meet him in SMB and I think I just met my new book boyfriend. M. Never has created a character that is sweet, caring and thoughtful while also being sex on a stick. While I thought I knew Ryan's story after reading SMB the author brings to life the hardship and struggle that went on behind the scenes that led him to the decision to walk away. And OMG it is a heartbreaker all around, tissues maybe needed.

That said, there is light in Ryan's story. Alana obviously, Mac and other's along the way. I loved how the author balanced all of that in Stripped From You, that while Ryan had darkness in his life there was also moments of light.

Overall an amazing story that I would totally recommend. I think this prequel actually makes me like Strip Me Bare More too. Read the Stripped Duet, you wont be disappointed.
