Well, that was disappointing.

Final thoughts (SPOILERS AHEAD):

Okay, I hate being so harsh on this final volume as this was a series that was near and dear to my heart for awhile, but this final volume didn't feel like a final volume. It honestly felt like the second to last volume, and frankly knowing that this is the conclusion is really frustrating. I understand that Wotakoi had a pretty random structure to its story, but I feel like it went overboard in this volume to the point where it doesn't feel like a conclusion. It starts off with the gang playing a game, which is fine since that's standard for the series, but then Hirotaka...goes to the dentist? Umm, okaaay a little random but whatevs. But oh no! Narumi's otaku identity might be discovered! What will happen then?!
Nothing. Absolutely nothing. I understand this is something she's struggled with, but wow was that reveal anticlimactic.
Oh yeah, and apparently Hanako's pregnant? Buuuuuut nothing else is done with that reveal. She's just pregnant and that's it.

Do you see what my problem is? This doesn't feel like a conclusion, it just feels like a bunch of random subplots that show up at the end of romance manga shoved into this mess of a final volume. Does this mean the series is bad? Hell no! This is still a solid romance series that speak to otaku culture and the bonds that form from said culture. That being said, this was a pretty disappointing final volume, but that's just me. Definitely give it a try regardless, it's still worth it.

Overall series rating : 3 or 2.75
Really cute and fun but I kinda cringed at some of the stuff and while it's probably me not being Japanese and being in the modern times (ig) but anime and Manga being super popular nowadays makes a lot of the Otaku stuff not really work as well. Wish there was less switching between couples in the volume like this is a Naru and hirotaka volume this is a nao and ko volume this is a toru and Hana volume but yknow not bad. I kinda loved the side characters more than some fo the mains and hirotaka and narus relationship ws the cutest but ya fun times

My heart.

This volume.
That ending.
The afterword?

This final volume was absolute perfection in every way for every single character. The growth, the love, the happiness. 💕

These characters deserve the entire world and I feel like they all got that. I will miss reading new adventures about them, but all good things must come to an end and this was a perfect end. ❤️
