Catholic high school drama + angels and demons fighting over souls = great concept! Book was a little too shallow for me, but all is forgiven since it's a teen book that made a great light read.

This was a cute book. It had quite a bit of trickery going on. Plus it's funny! Not seriously funny or wickedly funny, but it had such undertones of funny. Little quips that are SO Maureen Johnson. She writes such a variety of stuff, it's hard to figure her out. I did predict one of the parts, and it's obvious that no one is going to Hell, but it's still a cute listen.

Now, I love Therese Plummer. A lot. I love when she narrates books. But her voice was too old for this character. She did some fantastic voices for the characters, but her teen voice just didn't shine through this time. Still, I enjoyed listening!

Very cute book. At first I thought it was going to have a bad ending but it surprised me. Good young adult fiction.

Ages 12+

Dark humor about a prep school girl, Jane, whose best friend Allison trades her soul for poise and popularity, and the lengths Jane will go to get Allison released from the deal - with some help from some unusual suspects. A battle of good and evil with a teen girl twist. Recommend to: girls who like 'Supernatural' Readalikes: Rhymes with Witches by Myracle, Story Time by Edward Bloor

Totally Maureen Johnson. Which is to say: kick-butt heroine, great guy, and a lot of action and humor. Fun.

Read in 2007. And then read again.

Read again in 2013.

This book, was an extremely quick read, couldn't put the book down, I'm checking out more of her books soon.
Basically, it's really simple, talks about a girl, Jane, who is extremely smart, and her best friend Alison. Alison & Jane are not popular, and in the beginning, they have a big little day, and Alison recieves a cupcake whom, she later discovers is from basically, the Devil's worker, and she sells her soul to the devil. It's extremely whitty and written quite well, anyone that likes comedy and adventure should read it (: !

Really more of a 3.75 but I bumped it because I enjoy Maureen Johnson on Twitter so much.

This book was cute! A bit of a departure from her usual style but it mostly worked. Super quick read.

A departure from most YA novels. A very interesting take on someone who sells their soul to a demon in exchange for popularity and anything else they desire. So far well written and quite well done.

2.5 stars rounded down. Maybe I just wasn't in the mood for Buffyesque fluff. The emotion seemed light to me.
