This was my least favorite of the three of Marlys' books that I have read so far. I felt the two storylines didn't hang together or have much resonance with each other. I never understood the connection between Aletha and Callie. Was it just chance? Though her character work was still pretty good and the historical details were mainly interesting I still found myself flipping pages at various points. Favorite character was the cat, who DEFINITELY did not want to go back to the past. Can't say I blame him.
