Very informative. Was very glad to read it and looking forward to trying some of the things I learned while training for my next race.
Even though this book is outdated in many ways (published in the 1990s) and the fact that it didn't really convey any information that I haven't read in other books or multiple times in Runner's World and Running Times, I still enjoyed the book.
It's a great book to read when starting a marathon training cycle just as a reminder of the things that are pretty important to remember for marathon training.

I thought that it had some great information and Hal's love of running really showed through out the book. I read the first edition from the library and enjoyed it so much that I asked for a copy of my own for my birthday. I now own the 4th edition and will often refer to it as I continue on my running journey.
