This was a really nice story. Teaching children about baseball, about how you can do anything you dream to do, and about the importance of family. At the back of the book there's a nice summary of Roberto Clemente's life, which my 8-year-old enjoyed learning after reading this book. Wonderful illustrations, too.

Clemente is a hero for my people. Any baseball fan knows of his talent behind the bat. Puerto Ricans also remember his compassion and humanity, which ultimately led to his death as he flew to help victims of an earthquake in Nicaragua. This book serves as a nice introduction to children who might not be aware of his legacy.

The author chooses an interesting way to tell about Roberto Clemente's life through the eyes of a child and the comments from his parents.
