Love Hate Betrayal

This story has a lot going on, not just the love, hate, betrayal, but also trust, lies, cheating and hurting. Kat and Ethan both knew each other one summer when they were seventeen and they both were outcasts in the town. Ethan left suddenly and hurt Kats heart. Fast forward nine years and Kat is in Tampa running a business and Foxx publishing moves into town thinking to takeover. She tries to get in touch with the CEO, he doesn't want to meet with her, however they trade letters, neither one realizes that they are talking to the their summer love because they both are using different names.
Once Kat realizes who Brandon really is, Ethan, she doesn't want to have anything to do with him. About this time strange events begin to happen around both Kat and Ethan.
The book goes back and forth between memories from the past and the happenings of the present. It gives you a good background of what their summer together was like from both of their perspectives. The real surprise is when you discover who is behind everything bad that has happened in their lives both then and now.

Got this as a freebie so I guess you get what you pay for...
This started out really well but about halfway through it just kinda goes off the rails with both plot and readability. It's like the writer saw the end and just rushed toward it without thinking that maybe she should slow down and think about each sentence actually connecting to the one before it. The supposed bad guy is also just unbelievable with no real explanation as to why. I mean there is an explanation, it just makes no actual sense to anyone with a brain.
Conclusion: Don't waste your time.

I'm usually all for a second chance romance. There's just something about a couple who are good together getting their chance to reconnect and find that spark again. On that front, this pair does get that, but I had trouble connecting to the story and the characters. The story is a bit choppy as it moves back and forth between past and present and there are some scenes that have little to nothing to do with the story. My biggest problem was with the maturity, or lack of maturity, of the main characters. I expected them to be juvenile in their teenage flashbacks, but these two seemingly intelligent professionals were just as immature years later. All combined, there were more negatives than positives for me with this one.

Hating the boss

This book pleasantly surprised me. It had characters that you could get behind almost immediately. With a really nice plot twist.
It was well written the only part that made me scratch my head was toward the end when she was wrapping everything up. But overall a really good book that you will probably finish in one of two sittings.
Happy reading

A fast paced read, good chemistry but there didn’t seem that much to the plot and what there was seemed obvious to me anyway, ok read but not the best

The title of this is kind of weird and really hasn't had much bearing on the nature of the story. The male lead is not her boss so I just can't work that out. Anyway, this is more of a second chance romance of sorts. This couple had a summer romance seven years ago but the male character ups and disappears quite suddenly. There are a couple mysteries in here and I found the uncovering to be a bit of a letdown and kind of unbelievable in a lot of areas. Well, it's not a terrible story but not great either.
