This was more of a 2.5/5 for me. I think it was a really intriguing premise, it just fell flat especially towards the end when it was all trying to come together and tie up all of the loose ends.

Not sure what audible was on when they put this at the top of my recommendations, but it certainly got my attention with such a unique premise. I wanted to love it so bad, but my god is the main protagonist irritating. I'm not sure if the book ever clarifies how old she is but she comes off as an adolescent with unresolved anger issues and has the mentality of one as well. By the time the conclusion was revealed, all the plot lines were blended together making me completely lost. I read this less than two weeks ago and I could not tell you how it ends because it is so bloated.

But for what it's worth I would totally read the "Kitty" book within the book.

3.75. This book was captivating in a way that it was quite different from anything I've read in a while. The semi-estranged daughter of a famous author, Megan is approached to write a tell-all book about what it's like to be the daughter of such a famous author. Resentments that have grown with time come to a boiling point, and Megan decides to do just that. But the mystery behind her mother's story proves to be a deadly one. An ending I didn't see coming. Interesting.

This started off really slow and I had no clue what the plot/mystery was going to be. Then thankfully it picked up and I was intrigued and wanted to know what happened. The main character did get on my nerves a little bit because she would make such stupid decisions. I didn’t find anything really that shocking, but I had fun reading it. This isn’t the best thriller/mystery I’ve ever read, so it doesn’t hurt to skip it, but if you pick it up it’s a fun enough time.

Great read. Lots of twists and turns, really kept me wondering. The end flipped and flopped and my head was spinning trying to figure out exactly who was telling the truth.

Interesting storyline trying to crack an unsolved murder from 40 years prior.
