Yall I wanted this to make me SOB. and it didn’t. And the characters were so boring and NORMAL. I guess that’s the point?! But I rated it highly bc I ate it up! Is this the sally rooney effect?! I don’t even know what I just read but I know I couldn’t stop reading it!

Hard to get into at first because of the format of the dialogue (without quotations) and the way the characters speak. Eventually it became much easier to understand the writing and the effort came into understanding the characters, a challenge they share in trying to understand themselves and each other. I’m not sure how I feel about it, directly after having read it.
