Even after three books, Tales of the City is still going strong. The pacing of this book was absolutely perfect and the dual setting of both San Francisco and London kept things interesting and gave opportunity to really focus attention on the main characters.
Babycakes also deals with the difficult topic of grief and it’s aftermath in a way that tugs at your heartstrings before bouncing right back into something charming or ridiculous to keep you smiling. Even though the last book was a little slow and far fetched for my tastes this one fully recaptured the feeling I fell in love with while reading these books. Can’t wait for the next one.

I'm officially a fan!
This is truly the most San Francisco book/series out there.
In this book we continue to learn about the adventures of Mary Ann Singleton and Michael Tolliver along Brian Hawkins. This time Mary Ann and Brian are a couple. It is almost 1984 and Brian wants a baby so bad with Mary Ann. Mary Ann seems hesitant. Her career is taking off and she isn't very sure. Michael Tolliver had lost Jon to AIDS and it's devastating. He goes to London after swapping houses with Simon, a British guy who left the Queen's ship when she visited San Francisco. Mary Ann has a huge crush on Simon and invites him to stay with them at Barbary Lane. Brian also meets a rock star widow and gets invited to a party in her mansion.
Michael runs across Mona in London! who totally ignores him and here we have a little adventure when Michael chases Mona across the city with his building mate Alfred to know what she's hiding. At the same time, we learn about Brian's being sterile and Mary Ann at a lost of what to do to make his wish come true. She does have a crush after all on Simon who looks like a younger version of Brian so she plans this whole thing of sleeping with Simon on the ovulation date of her cycle!

Quatrième tome encore plus loufoque, du genre on ne sait plus quoi inventer (Elisabeth 2 !), mais avec un soupçon de la tristesse du début des 80s qui affleure. J'adore, comme d'hab

Not bad but I think everything was wrapped up a bit too nicely at the end. It all seemed to work out a bit too perfectly!
