this was my favourite book in the series. ate it up so quickly. could not put it down.

i have some thoughts and comments

first, eve i guessed right from her introduction. i wasn’t disappointed since it made the most sense. i had to literally draw a family tree in my book journal to keep track of everybody though, it just kept growing

i’m so sad that toby has been taken as a blake. it broke my heart, he was so precious. he went through it, from tobias, from his father being bUried in a tomb because he was murdered BY HIS OWN MUM, to finding out who his dad actually was and the history behind vincent. i felt for him. poor toby. also, the chess game with avery at the end… it came full circle and my heart ached.

i guess i was happy that she ended up with jameson, but i really have a special spot in my heart for grayson, i don’t know why!! i love him, he made me feel butterflies, my heart ached for him. i did get annoyed with him when he was all cozy with eve just because she looked like emily though. he lost points for me there, idc ab his excuses

every other character i just grew to love even more. nash and libby, alisa, oren

and just like that i’m officially done with the main trilogy. literally crying cause it’s over right now

out of the three books, i would say this one was my least favorite but that does not mean i didn’t like it cause i still LOVED this book !!!!!! the mystery vibes and genius characters is something i didn’t realize i loved so much until reading this series and this book finally saw so many plot lines wrapping up and gave me the answers that i have been dying for since the beginning

avery is still such a great character and probably now one of my top main characters of all time because she is just so fun to read about and i love her whole personality. literally obsessed with her

THE HAWTHORNE BROTHERS !!!!! i’ve mentioned them in each review but i feel like i really need to get my point across that i love each of them so much. nash is like the perfect older brother and his protectiveness and his cowboy ruggedness has me in a chokehold. xander is too precious for this world and i know we would be best friends and i just know he has so much more to his character that we still haven’t been introduced to yet. grayson is literally too much for me to handle. i love his character so much and he lowkey gives me jacks vibes from once upon a broken heart which is why i think im so in love with him ????? so excited to see what future books reveal about his character. AND JAMESON!!!! he has my heart for real. i’ve been obsessed with him since book one and he continues to make me kick my feet even in this third book. the way he just loves avery so much ???? like stop im going to die

overall i have reallyyyyy enjoyed this series. like way more than i thought i was going to. i’m sad the trilogy is over but i know jennifer lynn barnes has a ton more books for this whole series coming out soon AND I AM SO EXCITED !!!

It was a slower start but a great middle and finish! Can't wait to read The Grandest Game but taking a break before reading "The Brother's Hawthorne
