(Disclaimer: I received this book from the author. This has not impacted my review which is unbiased and honest.)

Keep Faith is a fabulous anthology featuring stories from authors in all places on their career path. It features stories where queerness and faith can conflict and bloom. Whether it be fantastical, contemporary, or more, Keep Faith is a subtle anthology. With these stories, you are transported to new world. Into new experiences. In conflicts between faith and love, commitment and duty, our dreams and our community.

Y'all I'm crying because I just received this book, and I want to cry. (Please let there be a demisexual character so I won't feel alone)

9/10/19: As of today, it made me cry and there's a demisexual character and an asexual/aromatic character.

I’m not good with anthologies, but oh my god this blew me away. Each of these stories had beautiful emotions and feels behind it, and the themes vary enough to remain interesting and still cohesive.

The intersection of faith and queer identities can be tough. There was definitely some very raw emotions, and I did cry at least once. (There are content warnings before each story, please be aware of any possible triggers.) I needed something like this, though. Because so much of this was so, so happy, so hopeful.

The prose was unique and varied, and all of it was beautiful. Even in short stories, I grew attached to characters and the worlds they lived in. These writers clearly poured their hearts and souls into these pieces.

I love my God, and I love who I am. Nothing will ever divorce the two. But acceptance in many religious communities is a distant dream. Many of these stories were affirmations, like a hug from a friend, reminding me that God loves me, just like always. They featured characters who were strong, who had faith, in themselves, in their community, in the people they love, and in God.

Please please please consider purchasing this anthology. It’s absolutely brilliant, and all proceeds go to a very good cause.
