I love this book. It's the perfect summer read. It's clearly a retelling of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes's relationship, so it's got drama, intrigue, and a great "discovering yourself" story. I wish there was more!

I've always been a fan of celebrity gossip. So when I heard about Movie Star, I knew it was a book I wanted to read. Let me just say I wasn't disappointed. It's not too hard to figure out what famous couple this is supposed to be alluding to, and the author does a great job of fleshing out the story with just enough information to make it a plausible explanation for how things went down. I also found the book to be an excellent illustration of just how isolating fame can be. It's one of those 'be careful what you wish for' things.
If you like celebrity gossip or tell-alls, you should like this book.

Yes, it's frothy, but I liked it much more than I expected! I really hope it doesn't closely imitate the lives it's obviously meant to satirize/riff on. An excellent beach read.

Totally froth but fun and I liked it. Totally about Tom and Katie.

A fictional telling of the Katie Holmes/Tom Cruise story. Quite interesting, actually, and remained relatively true to what the gossip magazines were saying about the real deal, though tweaked a bit.
I enjoyed it!

I just want to google Tom and Katie and see how much their relationship matches up to Rob and Lizzie's

This book is the Katie-Holmes-escapes-from-Scientology story, but with all of the names changed. There was nothing new or surprising about this.

Probably more 3.5 stars. It took me a bit to get in to it but I enjoyed it. It's kind of a fictionalized version of Tom Cruise/Katie Holmes.

A fun, easy, entertaining read. As I was reading, I couldn't help but wonder how much of the story was fiction and how much was 'loosely based' on the Tom Cruise/Katie Holmes story.
