Gilda Radner is a name that many of our youth does not know. She was a wonderful character/actress. This autobiography was a great read, but you need to have an interest in this person to really appreciate it. I recommend Googling Gilda Radner and watching some SNL Youtube videos of her "Rosanne Rosanna-danna" before starting in on this book. I wish she would have been around longer.
There is so much about this book that spoke to me. Gilda's honesty, humor, and struggles with cancer. Her fight, upbeat attitude were amazing.
She wrote this book from her heart, there were no pretenses. She takes you on her journey with cancer. The good and the bad.
So much good came from her death -- Gilda's Club, The Wellness Community. She was an extraordinary woman. A life that left this Earth too soon.
This evening...
I had to come back to my review because I found myself thinking multiple times today -- I can't wait until I am able to get back to Gilda and her story, only to remember I had finished the book. Her writing was so dynamic. I felt part of her story. She was an amazing person.

It's hard to not be heartbroken after finishing this book. The audio was recorded only one month before her death, and the end of the book still has a little bit of hope that she'll get well-- or at least push through for some time.
In a funny, thought-provoking and poignant description of her war on cancer, Gilda Radner's lays bare her frustration, anger, and tantrums, but also her love, joy and hope. Although her fight was not a full victory, her story definitely is.
24 years later, there is still no cure for cancer. I liked this book better when it first came out, full of hope & inspiration. Rereading it only made me sad and even more pissed off at the industry of the disease. The oncologists would go broke if a sure cure were to be discovered. I am reminded that I do know some survivors and am grateful for that.
