I read this to see if it was appropriate for my daughter. It was a super cute story about overcoming bullies and some other things.

I feel like it's going to be a good read for my 7 year old daughter currently facing issues with being bullied for her glasses.

I received a copy of Four Eyes by Rex Ogle and Dave Valeza from Scholastic Canada in exchange for an honest review.

Rex is having a hard time in Grade 6 as he seems to be the only kid who has not grown over the summer. He finds himself the target of some bullies and he is without an ally as his close friend wants to get with the in crowd. While Rex seems to get along with a cute girl in his class, he cannot find the confidence to do much. Of course, just when it seems that things could not be worse, he finds that it is getting harder to see and a visit to the doctor reveals that he will require glasses. A development that he is definitely not excited for - especially when he cannot even choose his own glasses - his mom can only afford the ugliest pair of glasses. As Rex navigates the world with his new glasses, he finds that he has everything he needs to survive sixth grade - it always lay within him. With a little bit of belief in himself, and the support of his family and new friends, perhaps Rex will be able to not only survive sixth grade, but also thrive.

I love a good coming of age middle grade graphic novel. Four Eyes is definitely one that will resonate with young readers as many find themselves going through similar changes during this time of their life.
