This is an infuriatingly relatable slow burn romance that takes place over a number of year. The conflicts were frustrating, but that's life, right? Most of them are. My main issue was Ari. Despite the fact that this book spans so much time, there was zero growth from her, and she was horribly immature the entire time. I think this would make a really fantastic movie...possibly better than the book. Despite everything I did like the majority of it, though the end was a bit over the top.

this was a book i’m glad that i read, even though it was only a little above mediocre for me. let me explain why. i liked the writing style, the banter, the small quirks that made this special and the world it painted to the reader. on the other hand, i didn’t love how stereotypically structured this was - mainly because i think the author is capable of something more. then there was a lot of, in my humble opinion, dragged out pinning that could have been avoided. i wasn’t ever overly attached to the characters either, and to be frank i just don’t think this is a book that will stay with me. in conclusion, if my positive points about this book, are speaking to you then you should definitely pick this up!

This book was angsty and slow burn-y in the best and worst way possible. I appreciated that Kate Goldbeck kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time.

I enjoyed this read and thought that Josh and Ari were interesting characters, just maybe not for each other? And a lot of things feel unresolved; time skips felt like they were often utilized to avoid explaining/building on what’s happening. It got weaker in the end, but still a fun read.
