Funny banter. Forced proximity romance. Insta-love-connection. Grumpy meets sunshine. I thought the topic discussed in the book were done very well. I hope the other Walker sisters get their own love story (cough, cough, hint, hint, Sarah Adams).

Really enjoyable and charming in a Hallmark movie kind of way. A Taylor Swift-ish pop star who loves Audrey Hepburn movies does a runner from her pre-tour life and hides in Rome, Kentucky, where she falls in love with a hunky and surly but kind pie shop owner. Definitely will read more from this author.

CW: death of parents (in past), dementia, stalking (paparazzi), mild sexual content (closed door)

A wonderful book about escaping from reality for a famous pop star who’s burnt out.  Wanting to go to Rome she settled for the next best thing, Rome, Kentucky.

When the car burns out in Noah’s yard begins a fiery slow ish burn love story.

Both riddled with trust issues and having lived very different lives this story sees them work through and overcome that.  Bond with family and battle their issues with each others support.

The story started slow, to be honest, I almost DNF it. But it picked up and I loved it. Amelia, Noah, and the rest of the people in Rome were so fun and funny. Noah was rough around the edges kind of guy, but the ice wall melted eventually. Amelia was so crazy about Audrey, she lived her life like the movie! 😂 But, I loved her because I felt her genuine vibe and I could relate to her simping towards Noah😂 The sisters were also great in their ways💕 The story was fun overall, and I loved that Amelia was a popstar, but she was down-to-earth✨

I have this thing for celebrity romances apparently and this one absolutely slayed. This was my first Sarah Adams books and it sure as hell isn't going to be the last. The characters felt so REAL. The chemistry and tension between Noah and Amelia were *chefs kiss.* This is a closed door romance but I wasn't even missing the hot and heavy bc the sexual tension Adams built up between Noah and Amelia was hot af.

The small town setting was a win for me, of course. I love it when the townspeople gets into the couple's business hahaha. Noah's sisters and his best friend were great side characters, but also his grandma's bestie was quite the hoot too.

I loved that this was just fluff and has some serious tones to it as well, mostly surrounding Amelia as she tries to navigate who she is in real life besides her famous, pop star persona, Rae. As well as Noah with his grandma and how he is coping with the major life changes.

It was absolutely delightful and the perfect book to pick up for a quick read. The Cheat Sheet will be my next read by Adams!

TROPES:
- small town
- forced proximity
- grumpy x sunshine
- hate to love (more like annoyed to love haha)
- celebrity romance
- closed door
- dual POV
