I wasn’t sure how well I would like basically 3 stories in 1...it could have been a trilogy. But man oh man, was it still freaking great. I think Willa and Ben were my favorite. I felt like I was out in Montana at Mercy Ranch with everyone. The twists and turns y’all, I was getting angry at people interrupting me towards the end because I needed to know who it was!

Liked the premise of the unusual terms of the will, the 3 sisters from different mothers, even the murder plot line. What I could not get past was
Spoiler how the serial killer was not caught at the beginning both because 1. there were so few real suspects with means and opportunity, and 2. the murders were so bloody that the simplest forensics and investigation would have solved it after Pickles murdered. The Keystone Cops would have solved it then.
. I am disappointed in Nora!

Read because I am visiting Montana soon and like reading some fiction set there. It also fits the 2018 Pop Sugar Reading Challenge prompt for a book about a villain or antihero. Also counted it for 2018 ATY #23. Legal thriller.

I really liked it, except for the twist. I thought it wasn't really necessary and through me off.
The story would have been fantastic if she stuck with the original storyline. I thought there was a lot of justice there.

Nothing in here will surprise anyone who has read a lot of Nora Roberts, but it is a very enjoyable novel.

Slow going but then it hits you, then you cant put it down because you have to know what happens!

I have been obsessed with this book since I bought it! I finally figured out why these floppy paperback books get so much love and this edition is just AMAZING! But then I finally started reading it and I cannot put the book down. I loved the characters and how they intertwined together. It reminded me of my love for Roberts! I haven't had a standalone from her that I loved so much since Shelter in Place.

FINALLY Finished after only reading in increments of 30 minutes at a time. Made me want to be a farmhand up in Montana. I could do it, right? Hollywood did. I thought the two bad guys was a little too coincidental, but otherwise, really liked it.

Review from listening 1/07/19 to 1/11/19

This story is 20+ years old and it shows in the story.

While I won’t say that it’s BAD by any means it is quite slow to get going.

It’s a murder mystery/family drama/love story all rolled into one.

The love story, well stories really. Start at about halfway through and FOR ME that’s where the story finally starts picking up.

Also, while Tess grabs her man firs and Lily second I think that Willa and Ben’s story is the most fun. Brothers best friend/childhood friend and neighbor for years. They start to develop the typical attraction but it builds into so much more for them.

The end of story will make you smile big. It brings a close to the murder mystery and brings all three love stories full circle.

This was a long book and long winded review lol
