What happened with this one, my beloved Kresley Cole?

Dreams of a Dark Warrior was so lukewarm for me that it's not even funny. After Malkom and Carrow's story (which I loved), I awaited this one with bated breath only to walk away feeling just "eh." Whyyyyyy? Was it rushed? Was K.C. not feeling her usual IAD mojo when she wrote it? Why, why, why was this not a 5-star read?

While I did like a couple of aspects of the story, over all, it missed its mark for me and just failed to engage me. I am Le Sad.

And in the end, no mention of the next book. Will there be a next book?

Did anyone else do a double-take when Lothaire called Nix "Phenix?" And what IS the Endgame that Lothaire kept referring to. Funny enough, I was more interested in him than in Declan and Regin.

One of the best in the series!!! Wonderful Scandinavian mythology intertwined with author's created lore - just ravishing!!! Great protagonists, dear, loved characters from the previous books and of course inimitable Nix and Lothaire made the book irresistible and impossible to put aside! In spite of the very serious events and difficult and painful situations, the humour is great!!! A must-read!!!

Another in which I stayed up till early in the morning reading. I truly believe Kresley’s writing reached new heights with Regin and Declan as well as Carrow and Malkom. Not just the love story, but the story in and of itself. I hung to every last word. The flare of the bard like prologue and epilogue are my favorite. The glimpse further into their future made me very happy.
