WILD KISSES seeks to give second chances to the main characters who haven't necessarily had it easy when it has come to love and life: Avery and Trace. While we learned a bit about them, separately, in the first book, we certainly were left hanging and in need of more. Jordan pens their fragile love story that is built from the bare bones of a building that signifies hope. For both characters.
Avery is freshly divorced and sinking everything she has, both money and mental strength, into building her dream cafe and bakery. Sacrificing her time and heart to her husband for near a decade, she's more than ready to give her all to something that gives her purpose. I loved her fighting spirit and invigorating drive. She complemented Trace perfectly. Because he's just as lost and in turmoil as she is. His ex-con status has shunned him from getting work and building up his company. Underneath everything that is Trace, is his big, caring heart. That man carries it on his sleeve in every aspect of his life. I loved how they fit with one another and gave the other the lift they needed in ways they didn't expect.
The beginning started a bit slow, but once the sexual tension began boiling, the story really picked up. The back-and-forth between them kept the tension at a high and with Jordan's ability to pen eroticism, it really brought this book to a fever pitch. WILD KISSES gives us exactly that: kisses that evoke passion and hidden feelings. Their love story jumped a lot of hurdles, and was filled with great romance. The Hart sisters and their love stories have been both fun and wild, and I cannot wait to get the next sisters' story.

This was an enjoyable story, that really drew me in and kept me engaged and entertained throughout. With a group of characters who on the whole were extremely likable and even though I hadn't read the first book in the series, I never felt like I was missing out.
As for the story itself it was extremely easy to read, there was no real angst, plenty of hot moments, and sweet ones too. I also really liked Avery and Trace as a couple. Avery certainly is much more than the character you are first introduced too, and Trace's background was interesting in that he is very different to the ex con done good I was expecting at the outset, and as the story progressed I found myself getting more and more involved in this couple. As well as their respective families and was so happy that Trace and Avery managed to get that elusive happy ever after.
I would therefore definitely recommend this story to others and will certainly be going back and reading the first book in this series soon.

This is my first read in the Wildwood series (a fact I will be rectifying) but not my first from this author and I got what I expected and then some - great writing, an interesting story line, and developed characters that keep me turning pages. I loved the dialogue between Trace and Avery and the ups and downs of their romance kept me reading to that awesome ending. Skye never disappoints!
Wildwood Book Two
When Avery Hart returns to Wildwood to open her bakery and cafe, she doesn't count on falling for the handsome contractor her sister hired to work on the roof. Trace Hutton knows that he's not good enough for the innocent divorcee, but he can't help wishing things were different. Even with the obstacles placed in front of them, Avery and Trace become closer and give their relationship a shot, but the universe has other plans.
If you're looking for a sweet romance with a bit of danger and a lot of Hart, this is the book for you.

Wild Kisses by Skye Jordan is the second book in the Wildwood series. The first book is Forbidden Fling, I suggest that you read the first book prior to this one, however Wild Kisses can also be a standalone. This book is part of Skye's more erotic series.
Meet Avery Hart. Returning home after a nasty divorce. After being neglected for years by her former husband she is trying to learn how to become a stronger woman. Avery has been hurt deeply and is wary of love and commitment. She's looking for a second chance to prove that she is valuable.
Meet Trace Hutton. A man who has made bad decisions in his life as a young adult. He is well known for sleeping with many women Trace owns his own business now and is struggling to keep his it afloat and prove to the the town that he is deserving of it.
Both Avery and Trace are struggling to learn their own worth and accept themselves. Only then can they learn that their relationship is not damned and that will be their saving grace. The two of them are perfect for each other but they are constantly trying to doom their relationship by trying to end it at any moment and call it a whirl. The book follows a easy plot line and focuses on the relationship between Avery and Trace and how they defeat their issues.
I personally love Skye's books. They are always about real people in real situations. I enjoyed Wild Kisses, however, it was a slow burner. The relationship with Avery and Trace is very back and forth and at some points during the book I was peeking at the amount of time I had left, but this book was worth the read. Overall, I do recommend this book.

Avery Hart has returned home to get a fresh start. After a marriage that ended in disaster she is planning to live her dream which includes fixing her father's bar. When she hires Trace Hutton to do the remodel though she doesn't realize that he will become the most important thing in her life. Trace has a past though and will Avery be willing to stick by his side even when the going gets tough?
Great read. The chemistry is off the charts and I liked that both had their own share of baggage. Can't wait to try more from this author.

Wild Kisses is a sweet and sexy contemporary romance. Although it is book 2 in the Wildwood series, it can be read as a standalone.
The main characters, Trace & Avery, are perfectly imperfect and both have had to overcome hardships and the ghosts of their pasts. Their attraction and interest in the other is clear from the start, but both try to keep those feelings hidden for fear that the timing and circumstances are not right since Avery is technically Trace's boss. On top of that, Trace does not believe he is good enough for Avery, because he is an ex-con and Avery, is worried that she is too Plain Jane for Trace due to her sexual inexperience. This "will they or won't they" tension of course led to some very steamy scenes. (Ahem, counter tops and banisters for the win! ;) I'm a sucker for a bad boy with a heart of gold, and Trace did not disappoint.
Unfortunately, the push and pull between their true feelings and what they thought was the best way to protect the other was a little too drawn out. Also, it seemed like any time there was a conflict, instead of talking everything out, some truths were divulged and then sexy times ensued. Not that I didn't enjoy reading the sexy times, but a lot of the drama could have been resolved if Trace and Avery just sat down and actually talked.
Overall, Wild Kisses was a sweet and angsty romance that left me smiling like a fool. I look forward to returning to Wildwood and these characters when the next book is released!

What a refreshing book! I loved the genuine people Skye Jordan created. Both main characters had flaws, made mistakes, but they were honest with each other, creating a beautiful romance to be envied. I couldn't get enough of Avery and Trace, and I was sad when the book came to an end.
Avery Hart is finally following her dreams and opening up her own bakery. After eight years of an unhappy marriage ending in divorce two months ago, she is working to build relationships in her old home town and focus on her goals. Getting involved with a smoking hot man like Trace Hutton is not in her plans, but one sexy night with him changes everything. Trace is an ex-con, with a reputation as a player and not to be trusted around innocent young women like Avery. But soon they aren't able to withstand the sparks flying between them, and Avery and Trace realize that what other people think might not matter in the face of their overwhelming feelings for each other.
Avery and Trace were perfect for each other! They both were absolute sweethearts, misunderstood in more ways than one. Avery eloped at 17, so many people think her to be irresponsible and flighty. However, she is just the opposite, and her courage and kindness is exactly what attracts Trace to her. Trace is a bad boy, having experienced jail time and sleeping with half the women in town. But there's another side to him that's sweet, caring, and selfless, which draws in Avery like a moth to a flame. He thinks he's too old for her, but the 8-year age difference is not enough to keep their passion down. I loved how Avery didn't judge Trace for his past and defended him without thought to herself. Trace isn't used to people trusting him, and his trust in Avery slowly grows as they become closer. It's simply beautiful to read about.
This was a wonderful, inspiring book! The characters were some of the best I have read about in a long while. I look forward to reading more books by this author.

I am loving this series!
Wild KIsses is the story of Avery Hart, second of the Hart sisters, fresh from her divorce and ready to start her brand new cafe, giving new life to a building that has had such a toxic past. She's stretching herself thin, baking as if her business depends upon it--okay, it kind of does--and cultivating customers, both in her hometown and online. She's sinking everything she's got into the business--literally.
And she's trying really, really hard to not think about Trace Hutton, the contractor her sister hired to help her renovate the building. But it's not easy.
Trust me, it isn't ;)
Trace is looking to start over--he's wasted far too much of his life paying for past mistakes, but now his dad needs him and it's time to prove himself at last. Fixing up Avery's cafe could be the key to everything. If he can finish on time for her grand opening and make it the building of her dreams, it just might convince the skeptics of his hometown that he's turned his life around for the better. Or at least get him some new clients...but not if he can't keep his mind off of Avery. She's off limits, for a multitude of reasons.
But of course they can't keep their thoughts--or their hands--off of each other, and thank goodness for that ;) The sparks they generate could power up every one of Avery's fancy new ovens, and then some--so really, their plan for "one and done" was doomed even before they finished making it. They do have decent reasons for staying apart: Avery's disastrous first marriage has turned her off of relationships, and Trace of course believes that getting involved with him could permanently ruin her chances for a do-over.
Fortunately they manage to figure things out and achieve their HEA, just in time for (I'm assuming--though Ms. Jordan really didn't give us much more than the barest of hints here) youngest sister Chloe's book. I'm totally looking forward to Trace and Avery looking all adorable and in love in book three, much like Ethan and Delaney were in this one. (Favorite scene with the two of them--when someone upsets Avery, who goes to Delaney to vent. Ethan pops in, asks whose a$$ he has to kick, and when Delaney tells him, he responds, "She doesn't drink beer anyway. Consider it done." He's a brewer.)
If you've read their book ([b:Forbidden Fling|25708556|Forbidden Fling (Wildwood, #1)|Skye Jordan|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1464834561s/25708556.jpg|45540398]), you too will love the Delaney and Ethan moments, but if you haven't yet, no worries. Wild Kisses should do just fine as a standalone.

Wild Kisses

Description
Newly divorced, Avery Hart returns home to Wildwood eager to take on her dream opportunity and transform her family’s dive bar into her own bakery. The contractor for hire isn’t just a master with his hands—he’s big, built, and wears a tool belt like nobody’s business. Despite being an ex-con, Trace Hutton is irresistible. Too bad he’d never go for someone as inexperienced as Avery.
Trace needs to focus on the job at hand, not daydream about smearing icing all over the sexy baker…and licking it off. This job is the key to getting his construction company back on its feet after his time in prison. Besides, no one deserves a fresh start more than Avery, and she certainly won’t get that with him.
After a delectable night of passion (and pie), Trace craves something more. But he’ll be damned if he’ll let his checkered past crush her dreams. And as Avery starts to realize how Trace fulfills more than just her physical needs, she struggles with whether to let her history decide her future, or explore the wild new possibilities of forever…
Skye Jordan is a must read for me. I absolutely love her Hockey series and this series is no exception. I fell in book boyfriend love with Trace. He's got issues and insecurities and that just makes him all the more attractive in my opinion. He's been to jail and served his time but the townspeople will not let him forget that. He's paying his penance and trying to make it in this world when he falls for Avery. Avery is the BEST heroine ever!!! She's kind to everyone and you just fall in love with her. She's been hurt by everybody. Everybody's left her at one time or another. Her ex-husband, her sisters, her mother, her father and she's tired of having that happen. Now she just wants to have a fling with Trace. She's opening a bakery and he's helping her renovate it and get everything ready to get it open. I was rooting for this couple at about 20% and I read it in one sitting. I loved the secondary characters and was glad we got to see them again. They were awesome. I'm gonna have to go back and read it again. I fell in love with Zach, Traces brother and you get to see that it's not Trace that was the wildchild but Zach. I won't give spoilers but Trace and Zach's dad is just sad and it breaks your heart when you find out what Trace gave up.
I did not like Austin who is one of the cops...he was such a little abusive snots. He gives all cops a bad name and I was so hoping that he would get his in the end. Then there was J.T., the guy that Trace knew in prison. I know that books have to have a bad guy but this guy made me want to shank him. That makes for a great book!! When you feel so much that you want to beat your Kindle just hoping it reaches your bad guy...you've read a great book from a great writer.
I didn't find alot of grammar issues and I didn't have any paragraph problems. It was refreshing. Her editor obviously does her job and does it well.
Now, my one critical issue was the language...it's not for the faint of heart. You can't let your teenager read this. There were so many GD'S that I lost count and felt it unnecessary and Jesus' name in vain that it was redundant. The sex scenes were also abundant and left absolutely NOTHING to the imagination...and I mean nothing. Sometimes, I thought it was over the top. Like, having sex on the counter with acidic mango juice and then using it as lubricate? Everyone knows that this will cause some irritation or a yeast infection. No one wants that!!! Plus, I imagine it would burn a little.
Overall, I will definitely put this on my "I will read this again shelf." I found it to be heartbreaking at times and I felt what Ms. Jordan was trying to convey to the bottom of my soul. I will be gifting this to my friends when it comes out.
I was given a copy of this ARC from the publisher on Netgalley for a honest review. All of the above comments are my express opinions.
