Really interesting and funny; there is quite a lot of intense topics discussed, so have a look at the trigger warnings
Overall very entertaining and insightful

I had previously read both of Kay’s adult memoirs and loved them, but this just wasn’t the same for me unfortunately. It felt like he was trying to recreate the humour from This is Going to Hurt but with the remnants of his life that were not directly ‘doctor’ related. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed it, just not as much as I hoped I would!

I do think it is a great perspective on Kay’s different avenues of life. I found the jump between timelines hard to follow sometimes - one minute he was with H, others he was with Jay. It would have been good to have approximate dates mentioned rather than just ‘flashback’.

Kay really got me thinking with this book. With reflections on continuing with medicine and dealing with personal battles, I found myself reflecting and empathising with Kay's experiences.
The chapters about his eating disorder,  sexual assault and then when he finally saw his GP, struck a chord in me. It reminded me of the importance of speaking out even when I struggle to get the words out. He is right in saying that medical school prepares you to not speak out so the fight against it starts now.
Despite this, Kay continued his ability to make me laugh out loud with his anecdotes, so I thoroughly enjoyed without a dull moment.
