The only thing I wish was that we got a glimpse of Astrea's future a few years later

This trilogy was absolutely amazing. I picked up Ash Princess because it happened to catch my eye at the library. Now, I can’t believe I hadn’t read it sooner! Love the characters, love the story, love the journey.

2.5/5 ⭐️ [rounded up]

i will die on the hill that laura sebastian is an incredible world-builder but lacks the plot. there were times where i just wanted to be done with the book because it was literally giving me nothing. i had such high expectations especially because this is the last book and it lacked everything that i wanted.

there was no romance, there was no finding out who i am meant to be and every time that we would remotely come close to finding more about theo the story would just swerve another direction. i just believe that there was so much more that could have been done with this plot and it was kind of wasted.

i will say that the ending was surprising and hurtful, the last hundred pages or so is finally where the story takes somewhat of an interesting turn and you can finally get into it.

nonetheless it was worth reading at the end, i just wished there was more action, romance and perhaps even more storyline rather than just having the details about this beautiful world that was created.

This book was pretty slow, but I ended up really loving the ending so I think it was worthwhile to get through the first two-thirds of the book. I really wasn't a fan of the romance throughout this series because the love triangle was completely unnecessary and there would have been enough conflict if there was only one love interest, but I'm happy with who Theo ended up with.
Killing off one of the love interests isn't really the best way to get rid of one of them even if it was pretty obvious that Blaise was going to die.

A great ending to the trilogy. The story was even more exciting than the others.
