The pace of this book is all over the place. Angelika as a character grew on me as she grew as a person, but oooooft at the start it was a push for me to get passed. The stakes were not massively believeable to me, but I was still invested in finding out the ending. Overall, average to fine book, I can see the joy in it and what the author was going for, but it maybe just wasn't for me.

This book is quirky. Essentially, it's a retelling of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein as a love triangle. You are forewarned.sara_dawn's review against another edition

Angelika Frankenstein was a surprisingly well-built story, with many ends and none of them loose. There is an honest emotional depth here which lifted what could have been a cheesy retelling into a bright original work.
There is some smut here, but it isn't the main focus (a refreshing change of pace after reading Hazelwood and Armentrout).

This one was a cute Halloween read. At first it was hard for me to get behind the main love story because it felt like Will wasn’t really able to give consent the way someone normally can, and the disconnect between his body and mind plus not knowing if he had a wife made the instant physical attraction seem weird to me. They were very angsty which I guess was fair given the circumstances. By the end I was able to get behind the romance and I enjoyed the B story of her becoming a better person because of his values .

A really weird read. And it was weird from start to finish. However, it was worth reading/finishing. As I got used to the story, I was able to more enjoy the banter.
