I like the way the manga series tries to explain certain holes in the game but it also has some hole of its own which is not the fault of the manga but of the later games in the series that have changed the rules of how the Triforce works. So I can understand why this is not included as apart of the Zelda Canon. Still would recommend though.
Zelda has been a part of my life for around thirteen years, so maybe I’m a bit blinded by nostalgia, but this genuinely was a fantastic read. There’s criticisms of it rushing through things, but that’s how the Legend of Zelda mangas are written, especially when it’s a big game in a two-part book. And OoT was always child-friendly in complexity, so it’s not surprising it’s manga counterpart is a bit simple as well. It’s still quite long and manages to capture the game excellently. If you don’t have the time to play a dozen hour game, this manga is certainly an alternative, though it will lack the details. The art is beautiful as well, as always with LoZ mangas. It’s truly amazing

Great fo legend of Zelda fans
Beautifully illustrated with a compelling story. I haven't played this video game yet, and I thoroughly enjoyed the story without the spoilers.

3/5 Stars.... I feel dirty giving an average rating to my favorite series.
Don’t get me wrong though. I love the Ocarina of Time story. It’s the saddest, most complex one of the Zelda series, and so much of it builds lore for the future games.
This manga, however, simplified it a lot. The story was very different, and the adult arc just seemed rushed. I feel like it may have been better to split this manga up into more of a series, similar to what’s being done with Twilight Princess. I do know, however, that my expectations vs. reality are two different things.
All in all, it was nice to read a manga on one of my favorite video games, and on my first Zelda game ever. I think my love for the game set my expectations a little too high, so I was slightly let down.
