I really enjoyed listening to this audiobook. Egerton does a great job of bringing personality and life to the story. It sounds like someone is just sitting with you telling you a story. Then there's the work itself. I learned so much about Elton John and how he feels about his career. I loved it.

Didn’t finish this - watched the movie Rocketman instead!

I listened to the audiobook of this and loved it. Elton John reads the Prologue and last part of the book. For me, I'd have loved for him to have read it all. Taron Egerton did a fantastic job of the narration he did but Elton John's delivery was fantastic. Hearing his joy in reading parts about his boys and the sadness when talking about people important to him that had died. This would be rated a 4.5 if I could

I loved the audio version of this book. Elton starts and ends the book. But the reader for 97% of the book (Taron Everton - who plays Elton in the movie "Rocketman") is convincing and passionate with his voice.

Elton has an incredible memory for details. He didn't need a cell-phone camera to recall all the good, bad and ugly through the years. He mentioned a diary so maybe that helped greatly. I just know that conversations and situations sounded like they occurred yesterday.

The movie Rocketman has a similar layout/structure, with the first 45% recalling his childhood and rise to fame. This is very positive reading (and similar in the movie). I loved hearing about how musically gifted he is. He played so many gigs in pubs and with various bands that he really KNEW how to be a musical entertainer.

The remaining 55% matches the same percent of the movie dealing with the influx of drugs and fights with his family and managers. But the book goes into much more detail here. Elton is extremely honest and hard on himself as he looks back at how crazy so many of his actions really were.

The ending is a treat as Elton and David adopt two children and work with his AIDS foundation. His farewell tour concludes the book, but this has been interrupted by COVID, so the tour is resuming here in 2022 as I'm typing this.

The book drops a LOT of names, so it is rather egotistical. But the book is called "Me", and this is Elton John. What could you possibly expect if you know him whatsoever?

Get the audio book read by Taron Egerton! I found I was making up errands that required me to drive so I could listen to the recording. I started walking my dog more just to add listening time.

A fascinating read. It’s funny, shocking and hard to believe at times, but authentic and raw. Fan of his music or not, read Elton’s book.

Highly recommend the audiobook. Loved it.

Usually I don't read celebrity biographies. But when I stumbled upon "Me" on Spotify I shrugged and gave it a go. And I enjoyed the audiobook immensely. Taron Egerton is capable of conveying any emotion in his reading, from sadness to swagger to tongue in cheek, it was delightful. I wish I could get hold of more books read by him. A real highlight.

Fantastic read and even more amazing narration by Taron Egerton.

I loved the biopic, but this book adds so many layers to Elton John’s history. What a life.

Worth reading for everyone who’s interested in personal development, witty comments on the past 50 years of entertainment industry and music.

Highly recommend the audio for this one. Taron Egerton (who plays him in the Rocketman movie) does an AMAZING job. Every time I listened to this book it totally brightened my day. Whenever I was stressed out about work or the current state of the world I would go back to this and usually end up laughing out loud. Even though I really enjoyed the content and the stories, I think the audio really made this for me, it might have been a lower rating if I had just read it in print. If you want some entertainment, go read the low ratings on this book that are chock full of pearl clutching about all the drugs and gay sex. Scandalous!
