I loved this book so much this was about Franni and Mack’s daughter i loved it because Winnie was living the same fate as her parents and she was young the age gap was 14 years he was grumpy as hell and making me mad sometimes because he was making a big deal out of the age and everything else even though it was not a problem she was a bundle of joy and happiness i loved her i loved that we were seeing everyone else and characters from the previous books this can be read as a stand alone but its so much more fun when you know the background of the other books

There was no chemistry between the MMC and FMC. I didn't buy the instalust. The MMC was grumpy but not in a good way. Even his kids seemed to annoy him constantly, though we're told how much he loves them and wishes he saw them more often. I wasn't invested in the mains and gave up.

The ending of this book really turned it around but the rest of the book wasn’t very good. I didn’t understand their feelings for each other at all. I don’t know why they really loved each other so much it felt like we got to see their intimate and their small talk moments but not the moments that really would give you any depth to the characters. Like they talked about heavy shit but it just didn’t really ever feel heavy or like either of them was very invested in the other one. The author played HEAVILY into the age gap aspect of this story and it got really old. Also it felt like this was a stand alone but there had been several stories written about all the other characters like I just felt like I was missing a lot of nuance. But I did enjoy the ending and how she moved back but not back into his house and even a year later she wasn’t living with them. Honestly the mmc was so unlikeable he snapped at everyone including his kids and he took the “grump” persona way too far and I didn’t like it it just felt mean.

***This book is listed as the first in its series on Kindle but also a standalone but then on Good reads its book 6 in a long list of a series. So I absolutely was missing context and I'm annoyed.
