I DEVOURED this book! I hoped for a slightly different ending but that's okay, I absolutely loved it! And I loved the higher-weight representation without a weight loss solution. Great body size diversity rep! Can't wait to get my hands on the sequel!

Six Things This Book Inspired Me To Do:

1. Google several Iranian landmarks see that I could see them for myself
2. Want to visit my local Persian bakery and get some of those sweets. And there's rice with tart-flavored fruit in it????
3. Watch an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation (alas, didn't get too far)
4. Hug my grandmother
5. Drink tea every morning . . . with PRIDE. Take that, coffee drinkers!
6. Cry like a baby from page 280 until the end.

Not a lot happened plot wise in this book, but that was ok because the characters were so unique and well written that their emotional journey alone was enough to keep me invested all the way through.
