Loved the story, loved the writing. Thought it dragged a lot at the end, but overall it was incredible.

This was really amazing. That last chapter was perfection and I really am amazed by Donna Tartt’s writing. This book made me feel every emotion so deeply. I want to immediately read it again.

I loved this. An extraordinarily thought-provoking story of coming of age  exploration of grief, morality, choices, etc. Quite descriptive, though a little wordy through some passages and get a little philosophical in the last chapter, but for the most part I really enjoyed it. Beautifully written with distinctive, unique characters and several motifs sprinkled throughout that would make a second read interesting…the mention of “right about to spoil” fruit during the pages of Theo and Boris’s younger days being a call back to the museum trip and the Dutch paintings that Theo’s mother describes to him in the beginning was a favorite of mine. I’m curious to see how the movie adaptation hold up.
