I rarely find a main character I dislike as much as this one. I stopped caring about what happened to him as soon as he grew up. The last two chapters were a struggle to finish, and I found myself just swiping across my iPad to turn pages quickly, thinking "oh my god, I don't care!"
I wanted this book to be different. The first few chapters were great, but it lost me. I finished just in case I was missing something, but in the end I wish I'd read something else.

I probably could have rated it higher if it wasn't so painfully long.
But in saying that it was the final 200 pages that were just far fetched and frustrating.
Interesting story and wonderful descriptions... but just way too much of both.

There's a good story in here, but I forgot it in Las Vegas...where the characters drink for 400 pages. Long, long, and so needlessly long.
I definitely enjoyed it but the book was frustrating at parts - I suppose that might be the point? The writing was beautiful even if some characters were infuriating. Would recommend but probably won’t read again
