Nice even for those who have already watched the movie.
This book is heartbreaking learning about the lives of some of the poorest children in the world and the amazing story of one boy who was rescued through adoption from one of the most unimaginable nightmares conceivable.
It is followed with an incredible journey to rediscover his past

Incredible journey and story both through young Saroo and the 30 year old man who returns to his hometown. Themes of family, discovery and home grappled with understanding identity and luck. You feel young Saroo's anxiety and hopelessness in being lost and 30 year old Saroo's obsession with finding home.
This book was very well paced. I read it because my MIL enjoyed the movie and found it was just right for a drive-to-work audiobook.
A memoir of a 5 year old boy who gets lost on a train far away from his hometown, and gets adopted in australia. This book was not well written, and an article could have been enough. It was touching the sense of family, as even as a five year old he had to scrounge for food for himself and his sister while his mom and slightly older brothers found work. And in the end how his mom recognized him after all the years. The beginning really gave you a small picture of what the poor children in india face, but was very breif as he was so young and his experience in india very short. The rest of the story goes slightly into his transition of being adopted, and his struggle and obsession to google map and find his original family. Overall, interesting life story but really should have been better written/edited and could have been a lot shorter like an article insead of a book
It took me more than it is supposed to read this book due to personal reasons. However, I absolutely loved it. It is well and emotionally written and it describes the journey of a kid to find his family.
The ebook is easy to carry but the paperback version is not very heavy so recommend both.
Although is the kind of book that you will only read once in your life... it is a book that everybody should read to realise that pursuing your dreams can make them a reality. Never give up!!!!
